Carbon reduction, resources and opportunities toolkit for Kenya’s flower sector Launch on 11th September 2013

Camco Advisory Services (Kenya) Limited (Camco),Kenya Flower Council (KFC) and Horticultural Crops Development Authority (HCDA), funded by the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CKDN).Have for the last nine months rolled out a Carbon Reduction, Resources and Opportunities Toolkit (CaRROT)verson 2. This project was initiated to facilitate and accelerate the flower sector’s transition towards low-carbon and sustainable business practices. The focus was to develop a unified response to climate change mitigation through practical and localized accounting and management solutions for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions, energy efficiency and improved water usage. This has been achieved by developing a functional sectoralGHG and resource management toolkit (i.e. CaRROT), as well as self-regulating voluntary management standards to support the toolkit. The process aims at further enhancing the sectors’ access to potential climate related opportunities.
In this regard, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you who participated in the launch for the Carbon Reduction, Resources and Opportunities Toolkit on 11thSeptember 2013at9.00am the venue will be communicated.
