Exploring the Western African flower market

The Kenya Flower Council will for the first time be exhibiting at the “The Garden Show” in Nigeria. This will be during the 2014 edition of the Garden show which takes place in the Western African Country.  The event will be held from Friday, 30th May to Sunday, 1st June, 2014 in Lagos, Nigeria and draws Garden and Flower enthusiasts from around the world. KFC is participating in a bid to explore new markets for the Kenyan Flower in the Western part of Africa.   

KFC has also been invited to be a judge at the event competition which comprises of the following categories:

The Best Stall Competition– is open by default to all plant or flower exhibitors at the show; as such no forms are required. Award plaques will be given to the two winners.

The Flower Bed Competition– each vendor will be allotted a space within which to create a flower bed that interprets the theme “Nigeria at 100”.

The Floral Arrangement Competition– competitors can interpret a Waste to Wonderful theme with one or two entries from each participant.

The Federal Government College Essay competition – Select schools from around Nigeria are given the opportunity to nominate students who will compete in a 500 hundred word essay titled “˜Flowers make the World Wonderful”.

–  The Photography competition– Landscape or portrait photographers are given the opportunity to capture sceneries that depict the theme,”a Wonderful World”. Shortlisted candidates are advised to exhibit their 3 piece artwork in the art gallery of the garden show.
