Kenyan importers/exporters) and clearing & forwarding agents will now be able to submit applications for Import Declaration Forms (IDFs) as well as Import & Export Permits issued by various Partner Government Agencies (PGAs) for approvals and make payments for the same through various Banks.
In a public notice issued by the Kenya Trade Network Agency (KENTRADE) a State Corporation under the National Treasury whose mandate is to implement, operationalize and manage the Kenya National Electronic Single Window System (KNESWS) also known as the Kenya TradeNet System stakeholders will be able to apply for Import /Export Permits as well as Import Declaration Forms (IDFs) and to receive approvals from various Partner Government Agencies (PGAs) as follows:
- Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
- Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Services (KEPHIS)
- Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS)
- Port Health(PH)
- Department of Veterinary Services (DVS)
- Horticultural Crop Development Authority (HCDA)
- Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB)
This has been enabled by Kenya TradeNet System after it has integrated with various Banks through the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) iTax system. The banks include UBA, Eco Bank Kenya Ltd, ABC, I & M , Family, K-rep, Bank of Africa Co-operative Bank ,National Bank of Kenya, Chase Bank, Equity, KCB, Prime Bank, Post Bank, First Community Bank, Gulf African Bank, CFC Stanbic, Commercial Bank of Africa, Fina Bank, NIC, Diamond Trust ,Standard Chartered, Imperial Bank and Consolidated Bank.
