Validation workshop on model sexual harassment policy

Kenya Flower Council (KFC) in collaboration with Workers Rights Watch invites you to a validation workshop to go through a draft model sexual harassment policy, Guidelines investigation procedure and monitoring compliance frame work for industry to deal with sexual harassment on flower farms on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Methodist Guest House, Nairobi from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.

This was necessitated by the findings of a sexual harassment report that was discussed during a consultative workshop with industry players, which took place on April 8, 2014.

The forum is collaboration between the KFC and Workers Rights Watch to support the Kenya Flower Industry develop and implement a national system for industry-wide compliance with the existing regulatory framework for sustainable production. One main component of this forum is development of an effective implementation of the sexual harassment policy and strategy, with guidelines and implementation plans nationally.

Workers right watch on the other hand, is an association which aims at ensuring that workers leaders at the shop floor and neighbourhood communities have an opportunity to consult and promote corporate citizenship and good working conditions. In addition familiarize workers with tools, skills and tactics that would enable them expand the horizon of organizing and create critical consciousness that would be required for effective workers organizing.
