FSI member projects starting

The FSI and KFC project to link smallholders with the market will directly enhance market access of 100 to 150 small scale flower farmers in Nyandarua County (Kinangop) and Kiambu County. The project will expand certification services to small-scale farmers, providing them with capacity building for implementation and market linkages to grow their client base.

This came after the call for proposals at the 2014 General Assembly at IPM in January. FSI have received project proposals covering sustainability topics both in Europe and in the main producing areas in Africa and South America.

The call for proposals led to positive discussions between members about possible topics, the setup of projects together and how to sharpen the goals and turn the proposals into projects with impactful results.

The Projects are co-funded by the Sustainable Trade Initiative and implemented by one or several FSI members together.

The developments and results will be shared with the FSI members, creating knowledge and improved practices thus contributing to build a stronger and safer sector together
