Nakuru County passes the finance Act setting cess on flowers

Nakuru County has passed the finance Act setting cess on flowers at 0.2 shillings per kilo exported as negotiated with the industry. This has been formalized through a gazette notice. This is a good progress on produce cess and the modality of payment is yet to be worked out.  The County will then coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture to release the Kshs 0.30 currently being paid to HCD.

The Kenya Flower Council commends the County Government of Nakuru for agreeing to work and supporting the Flower Industry. KFC will be encouraging other flower growing counties to follow suit for order, harmony and consistency at the national level.
